Hackney GT have a good reputation for being pretty outlandish with their patterns and designs, but whether you like that or not, it’s hard to argue with good quality products that are designed here on home turf.
The Robi Neck Warmer is the latest accessory to hit the Hackney GT shelves, not only jazzing up your winter cycling outfits, but adding a whole heap of warmth that seems disproportionate for such a small garment.
Out on the bike, it does what it says on the tin; it kept my neck and face warm, and it was thin enough to convert into a beanie-style hat that slips under my helmet. Unlike other brands, the Hackney GT Robi is very thin and has a smooth silky texture, which is not only nice and kind to cold, sensitive skin, but it seemed to be almost completely adverse to the build-up of water particles from my breath, which meant no soggy face-hugger, and a much warmer, drier ride all-round.
It's rare that a local independent designer does a better job than the bigger brands, but this is one of those occasions! A genuinely awesome accessory that I wouldn't ride without in the winter. Available in three of their signature prints; HGT Repeat, Betty leopard or bright Camo, and all for £14.99.
