This brand new electric mountain bike is the perfect partner for people starting to take to the hills to enjoy a spot of mountain-biking. The Lux opens the doors to a world that you can’t get on a regular mountain-bike thanks to the Bosch CX power system helping you keep the bike flowing along the trails.
Sharing its DNA with the highly rated DiamondBack Heist, the Lux has a relaxed frame geometry with a 69-degree head angle helping to make the handling smooth and assertive, but not overly aggressive. The frame is made from double butted 6061 aluminium with a recessed 400wh battery and the mid-mounted Bosch CX drive system packs in plenty of power. The Bosch system comes tuned to eMTB riding with 4 modes of assistance – with "Eco" providing 50% assistance and "Turbo" providing a massive 300% boost to your pedalling. The Purion display unit makes sure that you have all the information on the battery and motor available at the touch of your finger-tips, with the battery range giving rides between 55km on Turbo and 145km on Eco mode.
The Lux uses a Shimano Deore 1x10-speed clutch assisted rear derailleur to keep changes sharp and precise. The Suntour XCR LO-R AIR forks have 100mm of travel to take the shocks from the trail, and the forks have a wide stanchion to accommodate the 27.5” wheels rolling on chunky 2.2” wide Maxxis Ikon tyres. The hydraulic disc brakes have been upgraded to 180mm diameter disc to bring greater stopping power to the heavier electric powered Lux in comparison to standard mountain bikes, like The Diamondback Heist.
Commenting on the bike, Jason Boness said “We set out to make an e-MTB at an accessible price point, but without compromising on quality and handling. The Lux is a sporty, entry-level eMTB that handles beautifully. This bike can get riders out on to trails that they wouldn’t otherwise get to, made possible by the bike configuration and the e-boost of the Bosch motor. It’s a great cross-country hardtail eMTB, that’s truly at home on the trail and with it you can go further, in less time having more fun.”
The Lux is available from DiamondBack online at DiamondBack or from DiamondBack dealers across the UK. For more information about the bike or about distributers in the UK, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01773 532600.
